Almost Gone

Monotype Printmaking, 4” W x 5”
Artwork:
Homeless people. They've had it rough. The wear is plain for all to see, but their spirit endures. Together they've been through it, but they're not giving up.
Artist Statement:
The printmaking process is referred to as monotype. The materials I use are oil-based etching ink, a polished zinc plate, 100% cotton paper, and an etching press to transfer ink to paper. The process is quite spontaneous. I only print when inspired. The subject matter is of several recurring themes: the human condition, the traveler, the homeless soul, spiritual energy, the insistence of light despite darkness.
