The riot carried out in support of President Trump created an atmosphere of denial, mistrust, and disregard for free and fair elections that continues to cast a dark shadow over American society. The erosion of political civility has only been further intensified by the release and continued defense of individuals involved in the January 6 attack.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: 'Bahnschrift SemiLight',sans-serif;\"\u003eThe work \"American Apathy\" examines how the United States government has shifted from empathy toward immigrants to a growing sense of indifference and hostility.
