Monotype Printmaking, 4” W x 5” H
Artist Statement:
The printmaking process is referred to as monotype. I use oil-based etching ink, a polished zinc plate, 100% cotton paper, and an etching press to transfer ink to paper. The process is quite spontaneous. I only print when inspired. The subject matter is of several recurring themes: the human condition, the traveler, the homeless soul, spiritual energy, the insistence of light despite darkness and those looking for help, hope and rest.
Artwork:
A group of new arrivals to our country. They're here, wondering where the promise of a better life is. They see no hope, they are wondering what will become of them.
