Many times we find ourselves in situations that require unpleasant tasks to better the environments that surround us. Here, the viewer is presented with the chore of disposing a rotting carcass. The diseased cadaver poses a direct threat to the viewer, their family or pets, their community and overall quality of life. There comes a time when we all need to roll up our sleeves and be willing to get our hands dirty for the benefit of ourselves and of those around us.
Artist Statement:
Through my artwork, I hope to inspire folks to view their world with awe and wonder. Too often the world is presented as broken, without hope, negative and malignant. In many cases that is the truth. Salvation seems beyond reach. However, I believe, by taking the time and experimenting with inventive possibilities, an individual can discover a respite from the occupation of mundane reality. One of my art’s many purposes is to provide a healing factor to our everyday woes. If only just temporary, the art I create can be the cooling salve for the collective poison ivy of daily life.
